DETECTING KIDNEY REFLUX

Kite is a non-invasive medical device, designed for Kite Medical company. The main application of the product is to detect the urinary reflux in children with Urinary Tract Infections.

The design focuses on answering the needs of both users, the clinicians and young children patients. The main design challange was maintaining a perfect balance between a medical device and a product addressed to children.

Even-though more and more medical devices are designed to be as non-invasive as possible, the stigma of a foreign device interacting with a patient, specially for children, would require a minimum psychological impact.

Taking into consideration human factors applied to various design iterations, we’ve addressed the challenges by tackling each element of the device separatly, based on the interaction of both users with the device, and at the same time keeping a seamless connection between all components.
